Zendesk has announced the removal of API tokens as an authentication method for API requests. Starting July 28, 2026, unused tokens will automatically deactivate. By April 30, 2027, all API tokens will stop working. The full announcement is available here.
Myndbend Process Manager has historically used API tokens to authenticate with Zendesk and perform automated actions. To prevent any interruption to your workflows, you must replace the existing API-token authentication with a new OAuth-based Zendesk connection.
OAuth support was introduced in Myndbend Process Manager 4.53. You can read the related release notes here.
Action required
A Zendesk full admin must complete the following steps:
- Open Myndbend Process Manager in Zendesk.
- Select Zendesk Connection from the sidebar:
- Click Create Zendesk connection.
- Complete the Zendesk authorization process.
Once the connection has been created, no changes to your existing workflows are required.
Important
The Zendesk user who authorizes the connection will be used by Myndbend Process Manager to perform all automated actions.
For this reason, the connection must be created by a full admin user with the appropriate access and permissions.
Automated ticket updates and other actions performed by Myndbend Process Manager may appear in Zendesk as having been performed by this user.
What happens if I do not create a connection?
Your current API-token connection may continue working until Zendesk deactivates the token.
Once the token stops working, Myndbend Process Manager will no longer be able to perform automated Zendesk actions. This may prevent workflows from updating tickets, completing automated steps, or performing other configured actions.
We recommend creating the OAuth connection as soon as possible to avoid any interruption.
